Director
Mrs. Jessica Thomas is excited to be heading into her 9th year of teaching and 2nd year at East Paulding Middle School. She received her Bachelor's degree in Music Education in 2009 and her Master’s Degree in Instrumental Conducting in 2011 from Georgia Southern University.
Her bands have consistently achieved superior ratings at GMEA Large Group Performance evaluation. Her students have participated in events such as UGA's MidFest Honor Band Clinic, GMEA District 7 and 8 Honor Band and Clinic Band, the Reinhardt University Honor Band, the Berry College All-State Preparation Clinic, Southern Star Music Festival, and Music in the Parks.
Mrs. Thomas is a native of Richmond Hill, GA. Her professional affiliations include the Georgia Music Educators Association and the National Association for Music Education. She has presented and performed at the Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference and the Georgia Music Educator's Association's In-Service Conference. She is also a member of the
Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society and an alumni of the Eta Xi Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma. She performs as a member of the Cobb Wind Symphony, serving in the clarinet section.
Music is an integral part of Mrs. Thomas' family. Her husband also works as a band director at East Paulding High School. When not teaching, they enjoy spending time outdoors with their dogs, Bailey and Buddy.
